So I have been here for 6,5 weeks now and it feels like I have been here for months. I've fallen in love with Birmingham. I'm completey setted here now, I have amazing friends whith who I hang out a lot and I do a lot of other things to keep me busy:

*Learning a Dialect*
So when I got here I couldn't understand the locals here. Everyone had such a strong accent and it took me a few weeks to understand what they were actually saying. So, after mastering the listening skills it's time to master the speaking skill! During one of my lectures on Monday we were tought about the history of Birmingham but we were also tought some Dialect words. So, from now on, I'll try to use these words as welll (so if you don't know what the hell I'm saying, I would like to refer to this blog)

adu - how do you do
anyroadup - never the last
It's bostin - something really good
cut - canals
gerraway! - get out of here, you're joking
gob - shut your mouth
I got kayliyed last night - drunk
owamya - how are you
It's parky - cold
trarabit - see you in a bit
yammorite - are you allright

*Correct-o*
The movie nights continue and this time it was time for Inglorious Bastards (which is the wrong correct spelling) directed by the great Quinten! So this time, we where panning on inviting less people because last time we didn't had enough chairs and space for everyone. Let's put it this way, we failed and even more people showed up haha! But before the movie started, me and Lauren had a nice walk with the neighbour's dog Penny (please keep the Big Bang theory jokes to yourself haha). Lauren and I were completely in love with her and we got a little homesick but it was worth it! So after our nice walk we watched Inglorious Bastards and it was hilarious! I mean, Brad Pitt's accent and Italian is just awesome (I hope the lad got an Oscar for it).

*My clumbsiness...*
So, Tuesday was basically a normal day. I skipped my first lecture, which started at 12:40 (because I was lazy) and I went to my other lecture at 15:00. After that I went home and started to make dinner. I was making pasta with bacon, brocolli and cheese! And everything went just fine, but of course... when I wanted to add the last ingredient I dropped the pan on my foot (and yes it was empty so no food was spilled) . Basically I couldn't move my toes for a couple of days and I had troubles with walking... So no tipsy tuesday for me and no volleyball for me. I was so crancky after that, I really hated myself.

*Becoming an Actress*
As you all know, on Wednesday is cookie day with internationals. But this time there were some other people as well, so, I started to socialise and I had a nice chat with Michelle. Michelle is a student at Newman who is all into Drama and Acting. She is organising a weekly gathering of writers and actors (all amateurs of course) to create a good script and perform it at the end of the semester. And I'm going to join! (Maybe I'll get famous)

*Whiskey and a Birthday*
On Wednesday evening, Tommy, Michael, Jan Willem (aka Ian) and Colin had a wishkey night. I love Whiskey but I decided to have a evening to myself (because sometimes a girl needs her time). But a few minutes before midnight I went downstairs to celebrate Michael's Birthday. Which ended up in a party and I didn't sleep until 4 (I couldn't stop drinking and watching Spongebob and The Land before Times).

*My Thursday*
Ian's plane would depart at 13:30 so we decided to leave at 09:00, but because of the hang over we didn't leave until 10:30.. hehe... I had an appointment with Cesar De Cesaro (the tattoo artist) at 12:30 so I made sure Ian was on the right bus to the airport and I went to Body Garden Tattoo. (Ian's part of the story will follow). I was soooo nervous but Cesar was very kind to me and we had a nice chat about the design of my tattoo and we even made a next appointment; 27th of March! That's the day that I'll finally get my tattoo, after 2 years! So, after that I went into town to buy Michael a birthday gift (I asked the internationals for 2 pounds so that we could raise some money to buy Michael a big Birthday card) So what did I buy? I bought him a birthday card (which is more difficult to find than you would think!), but the card wasn't big enough in my opinion, so I bought 2 huge (1x0,8 meter) pink balloons which said '29', and the idea was that everyone would write something on the balloons (e.g. ''Happy Birthday'' or ''Hope you have a nice day'' etc.) So after walking for more than 3 hours to find the perfect gift for my roomy I was so tired and I decided to have a nice lunch and to go home. When I got home, all tired, Ian called me ''Es, my plane is cancelled''.
*Ian's Thursday*
When he arrived at the airport and after passing the security guards, there was still no plane. After waiting for an hour they announced that the plane had 'technical problems'... (of course...) So after trying to get on another plane (which took 5/6 hours of waitig) they told him that he couldn't fly until the next day. Poor Ian... After being at the airport for 7 hours he came back to my place and we have been hanging around, watching a movie and we went to bed early.

*Election Day*
For the last couple of weeks some good friends of mine have been busy with campaigning. They were campaigning to become e.g. Student president and activities manager. Here in England it is such a big deal! So on Friday, after 2/3 weeks of campaigning and trying to get votes, the moment of truth was there, the results! Some of my friends got elected (so congratulations to James, Leah, Charlotte, Tori, Katie and Jess) but unfortunately Ben wasn't elected ...

*Housewarming*
Again, another party! Because we didn't had a propper Housewarming yet, we combined Michael's Birthday Party with a Housewarming Party. Again, we invited to many people (we really have to get less friends or get a bigger house) so our living room was stuffed with people and cans of beer! But we had a blast and it was a big succes! Michael really liked his Birthday present and we all had a good time!

I always like to clean up after a party (yes, I'm weird) because I think it's hilarious to put all the bottles and cans in a bag and see how many alcohol has been drunk (just for the record 2 big shopping bags were filled).

*Explaining 'Hagelslag'*
On Saturday I was hanging with Navale and I was explaining to him what 'Hagelslag' is (for those who don't know, it's just Chocolate sprinkles but we Dutchies put it on a slice of bread instead of cake). I have never laughed so hard seeing someone eat 'Hagelslag'. The way he was looking at it, like it is the weirdest thing in the whole world. (I should really introduce this to the other internationals! Can't wait to see their reaction haha)

*Girl's Night*
Later that evening I went to Halls to hang with some girls and we watched the movie Tangled (I have seen it for a thousands time already but I still can't get enough of it) I've really missed having a girl's night because you can say ''aaawh...'' without someone starying at you like you're some sort of weirdo haha.

*How's your day? Mine is very Disney'y*
Today I have been hanging around at Ben's place with Ben (of course) and Zoe and Shona. We've been watching Disney movies and right now we're watching Grease (I haven't seen the movie before but I do know all the songs somehow). I still have to do some homework but of course, that's not going to happen. So instead, I'll probably work on my travelling plans (which will be explained more next week) and hang around some more!
