Hello dear readers!

This week was bit of a week with ups and downs but I'm feeling much better now!

*Moment of recognition*
Yesterday I was skyping with my Dad and he asked me, if I was happy with my decision of coming here. I think I should first explain, how I felt about my study abroad a few weeks before my departure: I was scared, I was sad, I felt homesick (already), I just wasn’t looking forward to it. But now that I’m here, I’m having a lovely time and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world! I just want to thank everyone here, but also back home, for supporting me, loving me, and making my time here amazing!
<3 Roomies, Internationals, Non-Internationals, Family and Friends back home, thank you so much for being part of my life <3

*Schoolstar*
I finished 2 essays, 1 leaflet and 1 presentation this week + my DPF (Digital Portfolio)! (I rock, I’m a rock..ehm schoolstar!) The only thing I have to do now is starting on my literature essays and start studying for my exams in the Netherlands!

*Waffle time, waffle time, Do you have some waffles of mine?*
Have you ever had Waffles? Have you ever had Ice cream? I bet you haven’t tried the combination of those two! And if you have, I bet they never could have been as good as the ones I had. Me and some internationals went to City Centre were there’s a restaurant/café specialised in homemade waffles and Ice cream. We all cried a little…

*The EU parliament*
On Friday Malcolm Harbour visited Newman university to talk to us about the Euro elections. He’s one of the candidates to take part in the European parliament. He is a conservative and he represents the West midlands. (so basically, I met an important politician). But… as he was asking me questions about the political system in the Netherlands, I could barely answer. After that he started to explain how the European Parliament is constructed, and, I understood so little. I should really look more into politics, because I felt a bit ashamed of my knowledge about this topic.

*Welcome back Lauren!*
Lauren went on a trip for a weeks to Rome, Paris and London (I’m so jealous! I’m definitely going to Paris as soon as I get the chance!) So she and her family arrived in Birmingham last Friday and me, Tommy, Marketa, Lenka and Courtney had some dinner with her and her family at Wetherspoon. (and of course, as desert, waffles with ice cream!)

*Nameday?*
For those who know me for some time now (and for those who don’t, pay attention), know that my Birthday is the most special day of the year! Why? Because it’s all about me and I get presents! These people also know (again, pay attention) that I always find a reason to celebrate something and I found something! Apparently, in for example Germany and the Czech Republic, there is something called ‘Nameday’. They basically celebrate your name… and how do they celebrate you ask? With CHOCOLATE! So on the 29th of November and 10th of December I expect a lot of Chocolate because, those are my namedays!

*Backpack is getting packed*
The next thing to do was buying things for my trip: Shoes, Shirts with sleeves, Shirts without sleeves, a vest, sunglasses (there might be a day that I need it, even in England), a blanket (you never know), a swiss army knife (a real Victorinox!) and a Camera (Nikon s2700, fancy!) So New Street, here I am, once again!

*Things I’ve learned*
- Organising 1 single day trip might take 3 weeks of preparation, but the reaction people give me, makes it worth it ^^: ‘’so great to have an organizer for different trips;) BIG HUG<3’’ (Youmi)
- I’m a real game addict… I seriously miss my Xbox
- I should do more bets, won a bottle of Baileys this time!
- I hate my bank… they won’t give me a creditcard

*Sneek preview next week*
1) ‘’ There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.’’
2) It’s black and concerning my calf…
3) It’s considered mysterious and no one knows what it is

Make sure you read my blog next week!!!
